The Capitole
This is the most representative building in the pink city: the Capitole has stood on the square of the same name since the 18th century. It houses the Town Hall and the Théâtre du Capitole (opera & ballet).
The Saint-Sernin basilica
This 11th century brick and stone basilica is nothing less than one of the largest Romanesque buildings in Europe. It is a crucial stage on the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago de Compostela and is therefore listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The Jacobins
The former monastery of the Friars Preachers (Dominicans) is an impressive brick building, typical of Southern Gothic, famous for its ribbed vaults, especially the so-called "palm tree".
