HALLE AUX GRAINS
Residence of the Orchestre National du Capitole, headed by Tugan Sokhiev.
For the past thirty years, the Halle aux Grains has been inextricably linked with the Orchestre National du Capitole. Led by the baton of its conductor Michel Plasson, this orchestra has won countless awards at the “Victoires de la musique”. Created at the start of the 19th Century for opera seasons at the Théâtre du Capitole, this famous Toulousain ensemble was established as a Symphonic Orchestra after 1945, thanks principally to directors such as Georges Prêtre. Recognized as a “National Orchestra” by the Ministry for Culture since 1980, it provides for the symphonic season at the Halle aux Grains.
