A game of petanque? Or simply a walk to enjoy the nature? A excursion to Grand-Rond Gardens is a must.
In Toulouse, gardens appeared in the XVIII Century following a project to embellish the city and link it to the countryside.
The name Grand Rond recalls its function as a giant roundabout that served 4 major roads. But its other name, Square Boulingrin, stems for the English term bowling green, that rectangle of pristine lawn where bowls is played.
You can enjoy a picnic among the diverse species of trees and the many varieties of flowers or lose yourself during a romantic walk past the statues, finishing up beneath the bandstand and admiring the fountain.
Along its walkways that hang above the boulevards, you can access the Jardin des Plantes or the Jardin Royal to enjoy the nature!
