MUSEE DES INSTRUMENTS DE MEDECINE DES HOPITAUX DE TOULOUSE
Visit this museum and discover the journey taken by medicine. From medieval obstetrics instruments to others that have since been forgotten, we might find solace in the fact that things have evolved so much!
Housed within the Jean-de-Rudelle space, at the entrance to the Hôtel-Dieu Saint-Jacques, a former hospital listed by UNESCO since 1998, this museum presents a collection of objects from the second half of the XIX Century to the present day.
They have been selected from a fund of more than 3,000 hospital items and instruments representing several surgical disciplines and they are associated with ordinary and everyday objects from the life of a hospital.
This visit is also the opportunity to visit the museum of the history of medicine that shares this venue and to explore the heritage rooms and the chapel of the Hôtel-Dieu, as well as its three pretty gardens (attention: no free access).
