Step aboard an old wagon and find yourself propelled years back in time, to the time when a letter posted in the evening could arrive the next morning: incredible, isn't it?
This unusual museum is housed in five old postal wagons parked in Toulouse-Raynal station. It retraces the history of postal deliveries (by road, rail and air) and of the itinerant postal workers, who sorted mail on board the train in dedicated wagons from 1857 to 1994.
Volunteers from the association that manages the museum have gathered material, equipment, documents, photos and printed matter that show the evolution of techniques.
In addition to the museum's presentations and exhibitions, thematic exhibitions have been created:
- Presentation of historical mailboxes
- the history of postal bags for the transport and routing of mail
