Toulouse is a stage on theTour de France 2019

The Tour de France stops in Toulouse on 17th and 18th July. In fact, riders will be arriving from Albi on Wednesday 17th and departing the Ville Rose on Thursday 18th in the direction of Bagnères-de-Bigorre in the Pyrenees.

A little Tour of Toulouse

You can also swing by Toulouse to take advantage of the countless entertainments centred on the Tour de France, as well as the city’s summer events.

From 10th July you can hit the heights and admire exceptional views across the city when you ride on the Big Wheel at Quai Viguerie, on the banks of the Garonne.

The fireworks to mark the 14th July, set off from barges on the River Garonne, always provide a magical moment. And to help you kill time until nightfall, free concerts take place at the Prairie des Filtres courtesy of an exceptional array of artists.

On Wednesday 17th July, Victor Hugo Market celebrates the Tour with a gourmet late night opening from 6:30pm until 10:30pm. Bands, tapas and wine tastings…a 100% South-West ambiance is guaranteed!

On 17th July you can visit the Cité de l’Espace until 9pm with a special rate of €5 for entry after 6pm (free for children under 5 years). And on Thursday 18th, take part in the Nocturne de la Cité event until 11pm, featuring entertainments and fireworks at the foot of the Ariane Rocket.

On 19th and 20th July, come and meet the Minotaur at the Hall of La Machine during their late-night summer opening that runs until 10pm and enjoy the concert. You can spend an exceptional evening on the Runway of Giants alongside all the Veritable Machinists.

On Sunday 21st July we’re celebrating 50 years since the moon mission with Apollo Day at the Cité de l’Espace. Up until midnight the park explores the Space adventure and welcomes you to relive the exploits of Apollo 11 and Neil Armstrong’s first steps on the Moon.

Highlights of the Tour

On Wednesday 17th July, come and see the riders cross the finish line at Compans-Caffarelli. Entertainment will start at 1pm. The caravan is expected after 3pm and the riders will start to arrive from 5pm. This is a unique opportunity to see the riders along the boulevards of the Ville Rose.

And don’t miss the real highlight of the day: the podium!

On Thursday 18th July the Tour Village comes to life from 8:30am onwards at the Île du Ramier, next to Le Stadium, on Allée Gabriel Bienès. The Tour caravan leaves around 9:30am, and riders will depart around 11:30am from the concourse of Le Stadium. This is a symbolic departure only so if you want to be at the real start line for the race, head to Seysses, near Francazal.
